Life & Mental Wellness Coaching Explained: Services, Sessions, and Common Questions
What is life and mental wellness coaching?
Many people find themselves in difficult life moments when the thing that would really help them most is a listening ear. Life and mental wellness coaching promotes psychological well-being by providing just that – a companion to listen and give the kind of advice you’re hoping to hear. Through regular sessions, you’ll talk through the problem you’re facing and collaboratively identify solutions or paths forward that make sense for you.
All kinds of people can benefit from life and mental wellness coaching. At ReWorkMe, we work with individuals, business owners, executives, church leaders, educators, schools, and nonprofit organizations. Whether you’re seeking clarity in your personal life, alignment in your leadership challenges, or unity in your organization, we adapt our approach to your context.
This article explores some of the most common questions someone considering life and mental wellness coaching might ask.
How does mental wellness coaching differ from therapy or counseling?
Therapists are licensed by the state to tackle everything from the smallest problems to the most difficult and complex mental illnesses a person can face. Counselors may come in many varieties – they may be licensed therapists or they may be pastoral counselors who deal primarily with matters of the spirit. Mental wellness coaching tends to undertake things you might think of as situational or problems that have a solution, but you just can’t quite put your finger on it.
You may also tackle difficult subjects or matters of the spirit in coaching sessions, but your coach will be very aware when you have waded into waters that are too deep for them to advise on. Because the primary focus of our certified partners at ReWorkMe is on life and mental wellness coaching, we also maintain a list of trusted Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC, LMFT). These professionals are available for individuals seeking deeper therapeutic support or specialized care.
What kinds of issues or goals can a life & mental wellness coach help with?
We believe meaningful growth begins with honest reflection. Our coaching combines proven business tools with a clear understanding of how people actually think and behave. The result is not just short-term improvement, but lasting personal and organizational transformation.
We offer a diverse range of coaching topics designed to support behavioral health, career management, change management, character development, job performance, leadership development, relationships, and team development. How do I choose a qualified life and mental wellness coach?
You should consider things like experience and certifications. Many life coaches receive training and certifications from various organizations or have extensive experience in fields like pastoral counseling prior to beginning work as a life coach. Testimonials from clients might also provide insight into the kind of work you can expect to do with a life coach.

What can I expect to happen during an individual mental wellness coaching session?
The client and coach will meet at a scheduled time for an agreed-upon period and discuss the client's problems or goals. The coach will then work with the client to identify insights and solutions that can support the client on their journey. Clients frequently gain greater self-awareness, clearer priorities, improved communication, and renewed motivation. They often report lower stress, greater leadership presence, and identify practical steps for lasting change.
All coaching sessions are strictly confidential and conducted in accordance with the highest ethical standards. Information shared during sessions is never disclosed without your explicit consent. Your privacy and trust are foundational to the coaching relationship.
How much does life and mental wellness coaching cost?
Sessions with your coach vary by level, frequency, and duration. Each coaching session lasts 90 minutes. Following your complimentary 15-minute consultation, you’ll receive clear options for selecting the level of support that best fits your goals:
Basic - $90 per session: This level is ideal for clients seeking flexibility and as-needed guidance.
Advanced - $80 per session: This option includes three monthly sessions designed to build consistency and momentum.
Premier - $70 per session billed monthly: For these clients, we provide a focused, four-week engagement offering weekly accountability and progress tracking.
High-Performance - $60 billed monthly: An intensive, three-month program providing weekly coaching to drive measurable transformation.
How long does it typically take to see results from wellness coaching?
Some clients reach goals in one session; others partner with us for several weeks or months on a subscription basis. We usually suggest three initial sessions to build momentum and measure progress. However, you retain control over the number of sessions you would like to book.
Can online life & mental wellness coaching work as well as in-person?
Yes, if the COVID-19 pandemic gave us anything, it proved that remote coaching sessions are effective tools for personal development. In fact, the Harvard Business Review studied this to find that virtual coaching sessions are just as effective as in-person ones.
At ReWorkMe, we offer 90-minute sessions via Zoom or phone; in-person sessions are available in the greater Houston, Texas area and by arrangement elsewhere. Each engagement begins with a free 15-minute consultation to explore and clarify your challenges and goals. From there, we outline a plan that matches your needs and schedule.
Frequently asked questions
What if I need to reschedule?
We understand that schedules can change. To reschedule or cancel a coaching session without penalty, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment may incur a 50% session fee.
What if I’m not in the greater Houston area?
No problem. We coach clients nationwide and internationally through virtual sessions, individually or with a team. All materials are shared between the client and online coach.
What questions should I ask a coach during a free consultation or discovery call?
Before your first consultation phone call, take a moment to think about what you want to ask your coach. Consider what you need to know up front to feel motivated to begin. You can ask questions like “What is your coaching philosophy?” or very practical questions such as “What is your availability like?” Your coach will also work with you to identify what your most significant issue and explore whether they might be able to help you.
